Job Description

ITW Powertrain Metals Division serves major tier suppliers with tightly toleranced and innovative components for the automotive and industrial markets totaling approximately $300M in revenues globally. The Division holds a leadership position in North America and a growing presence in Europe. The division also supports ITW initatives for our facility in China. Position Objective:

  • To ensure quality products are being produced, incoming material is received, stored, and staged in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Functions:

  • Operating

  • Perform assigned in-process and final inspections.

  • Monitor product using the work station equipment, such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, rings and plugs to ensure that quality products are being produced.

  • Ensure and maintain quality documents in a neat and orderly manner.

  • Measure and inspect parts per the Operator Inspection Instruction.

  • Support and assist production as necessary or required.

  • Identify nonconforming or suspect product and initiate containment process.

  • Verify that SPC data is being correctly gathered, recorded, and monitored.

  • Gather paperwork, SPC data, and gages necessary for upcoming production jobs.

  • Comply with Drawform procedures, safety standards, and housekeeping practices by keeping work area clean, safe and organized.

  • Complete and compare WIP Traveler and label info to assure it is correct and all product is labeled properly.

  • Participate in team activities and contribute to the overall success of the team.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

  • Steel Receiving

  • Unload / Load Trucks

  • Stage material to and return material from production

  • Process receipt transactions

  • Assign raw material lot numbers

  • Print raw material tags

  • Transfer inventory in QAD

  • Finishing Receiving

  • Unload/ Load trucks

  • Move material to appropriate area

  • Build packing slips

  • Process receipt transactions

Job Requirements


  • Familiarity with shop floor gauging.

  • Some knowledge/understanding of blueprint reading.

  • Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control).

  • Basic mathematics skills.

  • Basic computer knowledge.

  • Completed the Intro to Production Tech Training Program

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong Hilo skills

  • Ability to perform transactions using Computer & hand held scanning devices

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Good work ethic & time management skills

Educational Requirements

  • Blueprint reading

  • Forklift License

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to walk from press to press on the occasions where presses are not located next to each other.

  • Ability to operate multiple presses at the same time when the job rating is within an acceptable level.
