Tracking Code 20170246 Job Description Major Function Directs the Assembly Operations department in the efficient manufacture of products on a timely basis to the master schedule and consistent with all budgeting and quality parameters, through effective leadership of Assembly personnel. Duties & Responsibilities SUPERVISION 50% Supervises all painted and assembly production activities. Responsible for employee and labor relations within the department. Participates in negotiating labor contracts by advising management regarding competitive needs of the contract. Responsible for housekeeping, productiveness, manpower levels and work habit discipline within the assembly department. Supervisory duties are aided by the General and Production Supervisors. Staffs and operates production shifts commensurate with optimum efficiency, flexibility, and capacity requirements. PROCESS IMPLEMENTATION 25% Assure that production output meets the requirements of approved Master Schedules at optimum costs, within quality limits, and consistent with good operating procedures. Responsible for timely production of finished products and service parts to assure an excellent level of customer service. Responsible for the development of assembly department objectives to meet the required Master Schedule at a satisfactory cost level. (Includes cost center budgets, manpower plans, cost improvement plans, system development, etc.) Responsible for the implementation of assembly systems, policies, procedures and methods as required meeting short and long term objectives. Analyzes all accounting, manufacturing engineering, personnel, quality control, and production control reports, which are issued to assist assembly in operating knowledgeable and efficiently. Responsible for smooth and efficient pilots, new product start-up and recommending changes in design where products can be improved. May assist in production scheduling in order to maintain a relatively stable work force and attain the desired level of production efficiently. QUALITY 15% Regular maintain plant quality standards, and participate in quality improvement planning for the paint and all assembly operations. SAFETY 10% Ensure all Employees are trained in Safety Rules and procedures and support and consistently enforce safety policies. Participate in Safety Inspections and support Plant Safety activities. Establish Safety measurement goals and accountability for employees under their direction. Proactive compliance with Safety laws. Review Department Accident/Investigation reports and participate in preventive/corrective Safety planning. Ensure Supervisors follow through on prevention, counseling or discipline as part of individual safety goals. Participate in Employee progress or decision meetings concerning case management decisions. Required Experience SG 14 College degree or a minimum of six plus year's departmental level management experience in manufacturing environment. Multiple manufacturing disciplines preferred. SG 15 College degree or a minimum of ten years departmental level management experience in a manufacturing environment. Multiple manufacturing disciplines preferred.
