ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, skid steers, front-end loaders,excavators, back hoes, GPS systems, 314 Cat, road graders, forklifts, gradall. Cut ditches, slopes, grades, clear brush, shape and dress slopes and other earth moving activities. Must at least 5 years of dirt moving/excavating experience. Equipment maintenance - Inspect, adjust, and perform minor equipment repairs. Review blueprints, schematic drawings, and job specifications to determine equipment requirements for assigned work. Set grade, back fill, dig w/shovel, rake, construction labor, etc. Set grade, back fill, dig w/shovel, rake, construction labor, etc. Stand, walk, sit, use hands, fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, etc. Work under adverse weather conditions Maintain grade by either communicating with a grade checker, using machine mounted lasers, or by use of machine mounted GPS. Must be able to endure a high production environment for extended periods of time Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Current DOT medical card and commercial driver's license a plus High school education Reliable transportation Must have at least 5 years or more of experience in the operation of heavy equipment and construction/excavation labor A good work ethic with a high sense of responsibility. Attention to detail, takes pride in work Ability to setup, set, and take down rotating laser equipment Must be able to read grade stakes, perform arithmetic, or other basic functions used to determine grade Must be able to operate in tight, congested work areas with multiple other activities occurring immediately around the machine. $18 to $25 DOE
