Triumph Engine Control Systems is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket / spares end markets.
Triumph is actively recruiting an Electrical Engineering Intern for our Electronics Operations area to support a range of technical responsibilities in a high pace production environment. We are seeking a local student as this position would start as part time in October '17 and run during the fall and spring semesters. The internship will provide a college-level student with practical experience related to his or her major that will enhance and complement their classroom learning.
The ideal candidate for this position should have excellent electrical, analytical, problem solving skills, good writing ability, and must be self-motivated with good interpersonal and team skills. Experience generating test procedures, reading schematics, conducting tests, leading investigations, driving to root cause and working with test equipment including meters, power supplies, scopes and data acquisition systems are all exceptional qualities.
Diagnose and Troubleshoot circuit card faults
Perform circuit level and component level screening
Support Gauge R&R activity for automated diagnostic and rework equipment
Generate test programs for Automated Flying Probe Test System
Develop automated rework profiles for SMT component removal, reflow and install
Generate, maintain and manage procedures and processes associated with key automated Diagnostic and Rework equipment
Support maintenance, calibration and repair activities associated with Rework, Repair, and Diagnostic Equipment
Streamline processes by eliminating waste and introducing new technology and automation
Qualified candidates must be in their Junior or Senior Year, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Pursuing a Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
Strong technical background with working experience of Analog and Digital circuits.
Methodical approach toward troubleshooting and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
Ability to develop and read Schematics, CAD drawings and PCBA files.
Innovative approach for driving process efficiencies and cost reduction
Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels in the organization
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Candidates must be a US Citizens or a US Permanent Resident.
Additional desired knowledge, skills, & abilities:
Educated in J-Standard and IPC-A-610
Ability to read and write LabView code.
Simulation Tools (LTSpice, Intusoft, MathWorks/Simulink).
Analysis Tools (Mathcad, MS Excel, Minitab, MS Access).
Ability to train others on Diagnostic Equipment and Tools related to ECU products.
