We have a diverse base of customers in industries like automotive, aerospace, electronics, energy and general engineering that we support with 1,500 employees in multiple global locations Key Performance Areas In this key role, the Production Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating production equipment, and interpreting drawings, instructions, and process sheets to determine the work to be done. The Production Operator has a ldquo;Safety Firstrdquo; mindset and will ensure that Sandvik Hyperion conforms to all applicable safety, quality, and environmental standards. You must be willing and able to train other employees on all equipment. Additionally, the Production Operator will: liAdhere to lean manufacturing principles/li liReview specifications to determine machining sequence and dimensions of finished work piece/li liAttach fixture to machine- positions and secure work piece in fixture according to setup instructions/li liSelect and install proper tooling/li liPerform a variety of inspection and gauging operations to insure maintenance of quality standards and specifications, and record readings as necessary in inspection software/li liMeasure work piece for conformance to specifications, and record readings as necessary/li /ul Your Profile The Machine Operator must have machinery operating experience with data entry and mechanical skills. You possess a minimum of a High School diploma or GED and have strong decision making and leadership abilities. You are a detail oriented team player and show a high level of motivation and initiative. The Machine Operator should possess: li1-3 yearsrsquo; experience in a production environment/li liAbility to train others/li liBasic math skills/li liAbility to adjust to meet the demands of production and work overtime as needed/li liComputer knowledge/li /ul Pressing, grinding, and/or CNC experience is desired. Heat treating knowledge would be a plus, as would controller experience.
