The primary purpose of this role is to operate a 40" six color plus coater sheetfed press with conventional and UV capabilities to meet or exceed customer expectations with regard to quality, cost and timely delivery. The position requires the Operator to be detail orientated and have a strong mechanical aptitude. Duties, Responsibilities & Abilities: 1.Insure efficient and cost effective operation of press: Interpret and follow direction from a work ticket o Interpret layouts and ticket information oCheck that correct paper is issued and the correct count Direct press make ready and set up o Determine best sequence of colors o Set ink fountains o Assist in mounting plates and other items needed to process work o Oversee the overall set up of the press, such as sheet size, dryer setting, coater, etc. o Check work against layouts, proofs and ticket information Achieve and monitor color for consistency, pull time stamps Assist in wash up between jobs Fill out necessary paper work and records (check list, maintenance log, ticket counts, etc.) Monitor product quality Train press crew Trouble shoot and perform adjustments and repairs as needed Insure all press and company procedures are followed 2.Assist in the general up keep of the press and department: Install, clean and adjust rollers Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of the press and surrounding area Keep area free from pallets, skid and skid tops Remove waste paper, ink and solvents 3.
