Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operates various pieces of heavy equipment to level, shape and/or distribute dirt and other materials inside and outside feedyard pens. Fastens attachments to tractor Connects hoses, belts, mechanical linkage, or power takeoff shaft to equipment to provide power to raise, lower or tilt attachment Moves levers, pulls levers, turns knobs to activate and regulate mechanisms Operates equipment in specified manner to raise, lower or shape terrain Performs routine maintenance including: greasing, oiling, fueling and washing, etc. and performs minor repairs. Other duties as assigned by management.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in precarious places including areas of live animals and there is occasional risk of electrical shock. Education/Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; previous experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.
Language Ability Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Math Ability Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's is helpful. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
