*Summary and Purpose *
Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations Technician to be a member of our Wamsutter, Wyoming team. Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations, the Operations Technician primary purpose will be to troubleshoot and maintain our Echo Springs Gas Plant’s Caterpillar Engines, Reciprocating Compressors, Centrifugal Pumps, Natural Gas Turbines and other equipment as necessary to optimize the operations of our plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain and troubleshoot the following equipment: Large Caterpillar Engines, Reciprocating Compressors, Centrifugal Compressors, Centrifugal Pumps, Etc.…
Regularly perform a wide spectrum of non-routine, moderate to high-complexity assignments that would require technical evaluation, innovation, and good judgment.
Gauge readings such as: Temperatures, Pressures, Concentrations, and flows.
Accurately record, review, and compile operations records, maintenance records, test results, service reports, and other documentation as needed.
Maintain and troubleshoot the following equipment: Refrigeration JT Unit, Booster Pumps, PD Pumps, Centrifugal Pumps, Amine Systems, Etc.…
Troubleshoot and communicate equipment failures, and equipment health analysis to the operations teams.
Embrace safety and environmental compliance as a number one priority.
Monitor equipment, observe temperatures, levels, flow gauges, and perform regular unit checks to ensure that all equipment is operating correctly.
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of four (4) years’ experience as an operator within a gathering facility, and/or within the oil and gas industry.
Ability to demonstrate an advanced knowledge and understanding of Caterpillar Engines, Compressors, Pumps, and other mechanical equipment.
Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing to other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business
Possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as an individual contributor, or in a team environment.
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision, and demonstrate professional conduct and integrity
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain Centrifugal Pumps, PD Pumps, Piston Pumps, and other mechanical equipment as needed.
Ability to work rotating call-out schedules, which can include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to demonstrate an intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), as well as, have the ability to learn other company computer applications as needed.
Associates Degree, Vocational, or Technical certification is preferred
Minimum of five (5) or more years’ of experience as an operator within the oil and gas processing plant operations
Physical Requirements and Environmental Working Conditions:
Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder
Frequently requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions to
Be able to work in cold, high noise, and enclosed spaces
Must be able to work in very cold (below 32 F Degrees) temperatures
Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to high levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50lbs
Must wear safety equipment while working, and must be able to lift and put on emergency apparatus and/or protective equipment when needed
