The Regional Director oversees 2 to 3 multi-site regions that include Regional Managers and 160 to 240 remote medical coding associates. He/she directs, manages and implements best practices and standard work to ensure efficient and compliant delivery of R1's medical coding services across multiple hospital facilities.

Your day to day role will include:

  • Provides strategic thought leadership, project management and analytical support to meet performance and quality targets.

  • Coordinates and directs internal staff and external resources to exceed DNFC targets with minimal volatility and within specific cost parameters.

  • Leads deployment of R1 best practice standards of work to achieve 95%+ standardization of coding policies & procedures, workflow processes, metrics and technology.

  • Ensures R1 standards of work and technology are deployed and followed.

  • Accountable for timely resolution of all quality-related issues and coding compliance items.

  • Communicates performance results and manages day-to-day customer relationship with key executive stakeholders.

You Have:

  • RHIT or RHIA, with CCS credential; CPC-H credential (with RHIA or RHIT) may be considered.

  • 5+ years of healthcare management/leadership experience; managing multi-hospital health systems preferred.

  • Inpatient medical coding experience, minimum of 5 years required; Outpatient medical coding experience is a plus.

  • Excellent leadership and change management skills; experience leading through authority and persuasion.

  • Advanced problem-solving skills with ability to manage cross-functional resolutions against a deadline.

  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to comprehend and analyze large quantities of operational data.

  • Excellent proficiency in standard office equipment and information systems.

  • Strong financial acumen and ability to create and execute a departmental budget.

  • Excellent customer service skills; decisive, confident and proactive in dealing with difficult situations.

  • Ability to prioritize key tasks and work in a complex, stressful environment.
