The American Institutes for Research, a well-established research organization specializing in education, assessment, special education, early childhood, and other social policy issues, has an opening for a Operations Associate in our Columbus, OH office.

• Responsible for executing AIR’s Text-to-Speech, Text-to-Braille, and Item Bank Import operational work

• Identify and articulate process improvements; to include enhancements to the AIR software systems and general process improvements

• Support Range finding activities and work directly with AIR clients during the process

• Support Rubric validation for all machine scored constructed response items, ensuring that all steps of the process are followed precisely

• Complete all assigned work in the time allocated and meets all client related commitments.

• Adhere consistently to defined work schedule; communicate any potential changes to staff manager with ample time for reaction.

• Offer suggestions to improve or increase the accuracy or efficiency of established processes.

• Proactively assist peers and adjacent departments (i.e., “pitches in”)

• Maintain positive relationships with peers, team coordinators, managers and support staff

• Adapt to the introduction of new tools and technologies supporting work processes

• Identify potential risks to quality and bring them to attention of supervisor

• BA/BS degree required

• 1-3 years of professional experience preferred

• Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Technical aptitude for learning new technologies, ability to troubleshoot technical problems

• Speaks and writes clearly, concisely, and to the point; engages others in open and forthright conversation

• Creativity and innovative thinking

• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a software development and testing team

• Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple tasks

• Strong attention to detail
