Operational Psychologist

Key Role:Provide technical expertise, guidance, and direct clinical services in operational psychology to US Forces. Act in concert with an existing active duty, Operational Psychologists, or independently if no such active duty psychologist is available to develop, plan, and initiate resiliency programs for preventing and treating behavioral health issues that support all aspects of service member readiness and resilience. Conduct, administer, and interpret a full spectrum of psychological assessment tools and consult with command personnel, manage relevant process improvement, program validation, and research, and develop and manage appropriate personnel selection records and filing systems. Assume responsibility for management of referrals and disposition of referrals for behavioral health care, provide professional development and awareness education to leadership and personnel, as requested, and provide crisis response and follow-up care in the event of unit casualties or other serious incidents. Function as a liaison between unit personnel and base or community helping professionals or agencies, support the assessment and selection of incoming personnel, and provide feedback to unit leadership on the suitability of personnel to serve within certain military organizations or positions, where required. Maintain responsibility for all deliverables that must meet professional standards and guidelines defined by the organization's commander or senior operational psychologist. Provide technical expertise, consultation, and direct support for the assessment and selection of personnel, operational support, human performance enhancement, and provision of clinical services to unit members.Basic Qualifications:-Experience in working with physicians providing medical psychological services and training in the assessment and treatment of alcohol and substance abuse conditions, domestic violence, child abuse, post-traumatic stress, mood and anxiety conditions, and family or marital issues-Knowledge of professional standards and ethics regarding the delivery of clinical psychology programs-Ability to demonstrate the computer literacy required to operate a personal computer using psychological tests, word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs and possess the basic typing expertise required to produce reports and correspondence efficiently, conduct, administer, and interpret the full spectrum of psychological assessment tools, and consult with command personnel-Ability to show expertise in psychological assessment, behavioral health, behavioral research, and organizational effectiveness literature, operational psychology, performance enhancement and training, and industrial or organizational psychology-PhD or PsyD degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology-Completion of a Clinical Psychology internship or residency-Current Psychology license in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the US Virgin Islands-Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification, as certified by the American Heart Association

Additional Qualifications:-PhD or PsyD degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-approved psychology program-Completion of an APA-approved Clinical Psychology internship or residency
