Position Description:

This role will primarily be responsible for working with the AEL businesses and functions to ensure there is an effective operational control environment and related reporting in place across AEL. A significant portion of this role (at least 50%) will be dedicated to controls over third parties, and in this regard this role will provide essential support to the AEL Head of Third Party Management. Specifically this role will be responsible for:- Working with the AEL businesses and the Risk Management function to provide analytics and reporting over controls, with a focus on controls over third parties. This will include providing a view of key areas of residual risk and providing appropriate reporting on AEL key risks to the relevant global risk forums.- Working with the AEL businesses and Risk Management to help define key controls that need to be in place over the most material third parties across AEL, and ensuring that audit programs over these third parties incorporate these controls, are robust, are communicated across the region, and are in place and operating effectively.

Position Requirements:

  • Ensuring there is a clear understanding of outputs of third party audits and actions are communicated and tracked to completion. - Performing a limited number of first line of defense third party audits to support the AEL businesses and functions.- Ensuring controls are defined and in place over other critical control areas, particularly those relating to customer conduct – eg, complaints handling, product oversight, critical control facing processes, bookings, etc.- Maintaining an inventory of control deficiencies reported across AEL (via Internal Audit reports, Compliance reviews, key reported risk events, etc.), following up with the relevant parties to ensure items are getting closed out by the target dates, and escalating to management areas where items are overdue and where there is a concentration of risk in a particular area that may require mitigation. - Coordinate the Commercial risk acceptance process across AEL
