This is a part-time Classified WAE position located at Delgado Community College, Charity School of Nursing. The hire hourly rate is $15.00 per hour.

Six months of experience in computer operations or computer production control.
College training will substitute for the required experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours for six months of experience. College training will only be credited in 15 semester hour increments.
Training in computer operations or programming in a business or vocational technical school will substitute for the required experience. Business or technical school training with less than completion will only be credited in six month increments.
Any college hours or degree must be from a school accredited by one of the following regional accrediting bodies: the Middle States Commission on Higher Education; the New England Association of Schools and Colleges; the Higher Learning Commission; the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities; the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Function of Work:
To execute and monitor the enterprise systems processes, and set up, adjust and maintain peripheral and auxiliary equipment for the processing of data.
Level of Work:
General from an Information Technology Operations Shift Supervisor and functional from a higher level Information Technology Equipment Operator.
Location of Work:
Information Technology sections of all state agencies.
Differs from Information Technology Equipment Operator 1 by the absence of close supervision, level of responsibility and greater independence of action.
Differs from Information Technology Equipment Operator 3 by absence of lead-worker responsibility.
Examples of Work
Operates, adjusts, maintains and performs minor maintenance to peripheral information technology and auxiliary equipment; monitors and responds to console messages and operations questions; may modify job control language.
Prepares equipment, data and instructions for processing operations according to job set-up statements; maintains production schedule and logs of work run; may pull, scratch or add magnetic media to the system; may burst, sort and distribute computer output; may make off-site deliveries.
Identifies abends and equipment malfunctions; documents trouble reports when a processing operation cannot be completed.
Responds to and logs problems related to job processing and communications network system; refers questions to appropriate personnel or may resolve minor malfunctions.
May oversee the work of employees in lower level related jobs.
May perform complex start/restart procedures on the mainframe, client/servers, and various software support features.
Logs and performs first level problem determination, obtains information and answers users questions regarding the communications network in the absence of Help Desk personnel.
Responds to telephoned reports of difficulty or malfunctions by identifying or diagnosing the source of the problem.
Monitors mainframe, client/server and various software support applications.
