Overall Purpose of Position To provide support to the NOV FluidControl Oman Operations in the field and in the capital area. The position is considered "Muscat based" and extensive travel throughout all rig operations will be required. Minimal field stay time is expected, as the primary responsibility is safe driving and timely arrival at the location. As needed, the driver may be asked to assist with certain tasks either in the warehouse or in the field. In these instances, it will be in support of another engineer, and at their direction. A. Duties: · Position will be Muscat based on a 5 day work week as required to support ongoing operations. As the driver's role is a support function of our ongoing field operations, the driver must be able to maintain a flexible schedule in order to properly support our operations. The driver must be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed. · The driver will be responsible for safe operation of 1 ton and 3 ton vehicles as well as occasional duty as a fork lift driver as needed and light passenger bus driver. · The driver will need to be familiar with operating under the journey management program, and following the directions given under the same. · The driver must be able to obtain or possess a PDO approved graded road driving license for 1 ton and 3 ton vehicles as well as a light passenger bus certification. Any loss of this license or failure to obtain will void any employment with the company. It is the driver's responsibility to see that these licenses are maintained current. The company will cover the costs associated with these licenses, but it is the driver's responsibility to see that they are obtained and do not expire. · The driver will be responsible to see that the vehicles receive proper service at the scheduled intervals, and all inspections are carried out prior to operating any vehicle. · The driver will be responsible for the safe loading and unloading of the cargo entrusted to their care. This also includes the securing of the cargo into the vehicle in a safe manner that prevents damage to the vehicle, its occupants, others on the road, or the cargo itself. Manual loading of items will often be required as part of the job. • The driver must be willing to actively partake in all training offered within the organization. · The driver must be willing to offer up suggestions as it concerns the safe operations of the vehicle and journey management procedures. · Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner in compliance with FluidControl HSE guidelines and no risks are taken which might cause injury to personnel or damage to company / client property. . The driver must participate in the regular toolbox talks, safety meetings when present. . The driver may be asked to assist with other operations within the organization, and as part of our spirit of teamwork should be willing to do their best to assist where asked. . The driver will be required to wear the appropriate level of PPE at all times while on duty and within company and customer facilities. The above list is not exhaustive and the individual may be required to carry out other tasks that Management feel are considered reasonable within the context of this role. B. Quality Assurance · To ensure that the Company's quality control and quality assurance procedures are adhered to. · To verify 100% accuracy of paperwork as submitted to management. C. Training · To actively participate in the training offered on any range of topics deemed of value to the driver's role in the organization. D. Safety · Ensuring that employees adhere to relevant HSE procedures and use appropriate PPE at all times, not just yourself, but also those around you. · Operate within existing journey management program and cooperate with customers on their journey management programs and safety initiatives. · Ensuring that all incidents are properly recorded and reported and that an investigation is carried out to establish and rectify root causes. · Actively participate in the NOV HSE management system. Must have completed Oman Secondary Education (High School Equivalent). Speak English conversationally, read and write in English as needed to support the functions of the job. Candidate should have a valid Oman driving license.
