Aon Corporation Director, Operations in United States
Overall Purpose The successful candidate will work with the managing director and the board of directors to support the Company’s business change towards Aon’s Target Operating Model. This will comprise meeting corporate governance requirements by managing and monitoring all aspects of operational activity within the Company whilst looking to develop future processes to support the continued growth and development of the Company. The role will comprise a wide range of responsibilities including leadership and support, IT and facilities management as well as ad hoc project management.
Responsible for managing: 1. Operational governance and performance aspects of the operations function whilst contributing towards the Company’s strategic direction and development 2. Operational change initiatives (including implementation of new platforms) 3. Coordination of the company’s outsourced accounting platform in Bangalore 4. Maintenance and monitoring of procedures, ensuring that all colleagues adhere to applicable procedures (ensuring that non-compliance is followed up and escalated where necessary) 8. The Company’s Operations Committee and reporting on the same to the board of directors.
Additional responsibilities include: 9. Contributing to the development and improvement of the operational governance process and ensuring that there is clear evidence that the framework is being adhered to 10. Working closely with colleagues in all areas of the Company’s business to ensure that operational issues are identified, addressed and resolved on a timely basis 11. Providing training support to colleagues across the Company in the development, improvement and implementation of the end-to-end business process cycle 12. Maintaining and developing relationships with Aon colleagues in other business units to support Aon wide initiatives and represent the operations function as required 13. Compliance with Regulatory requirements and business procedures Responsible for working in accordance with the Company’s risk management framework, and compliance with applicable policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Aon group company.
Qualifications An appropriate professional qualification (eg ACCA, ACII or similar) or PRINCE 2 is required.
Knowledge and Skills 1. Demonstrable experience managing the day-to-day operational requirements of a financial services (preferably insurance related) business. 2. General understanding of the principles (commercial, legal, etc.) underlying the insurance industry generally (and preferably of the Guernsey based captive insurance industry). 3. Ability to prioritise essential. 4. Demonstrable project management skills essential.
