University of Toronto Administrator, Operations and Finance in United States

Under the direction of the Administrative Director, the Administrator, Operations and Finance provides a wide range of operations and finance support for University of Toronto Communications. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: processing casual staff records in HRIS; maintaining vacation and overtime tracking system; administering the office land line and mobile telephone systems and their monthly accounts; administering office subscriptions (software licensing, online tools and systems, print subscriptions); assisting the business manager with day-to-day financial transactions by posting information; liaising with various vendors and central university administration offices to coordinate and resolve billing activity. The Administrator member of the Office of VP, Communications team, and, as such, will assist fellow team members during overload situations and/or during periods of absence or vacation. The Administrator serves as a back-up to the Administrative Coordinator during periods of absence; provides administrative support on projects.

(MINIMUM)

Education:

Completion of three (3) year College Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Experience:

Three (3) years related operations, finance and administration experience. Demonstrated experience using computerized financial information systems preferably in a University or other public sector setting.

**Skills:

Proficiency in University of Toronto administrative systems (FIS, HRIS) or equivalent systems required. Highly proficient use of Excel spreadsheets; demonstrated experience with online tools, word processing skills and some exposure to PowerPoint and database. Knowledge of the University’s financial policies is an asset.

**Other:

Ability to communicate effectively both orally, and in writing, with various levels of university staff; to prioritize work to meet deadlines and to multi-task on varied duties; excellent organizational skills and the ability to be proactive; attentive to detail. The incumbent should be service oriented, reliable, and possess sound judgement and demonstrates ability to work in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities.
