As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Computer Ops Administrator II to support our Corporate IT function located in Batangas, Philippines.
- JOB SUMMARY*
Reporting to the IT Manager, Asia, the Computer Ops Administrator II monitors and operates electronic digital computers to process business, scientific, engineering, or other data according to operating instructions; sets control switches; ensure that correct peripheral equipment is utilized and move switches to clear system and operate the equipment; selects and loads input and output units with materials such as tapes and printout forms. Observes equipment and control panels for operator messages or error indicators. Sets up and runs diagnostic test and reacts appropriately to the messages and reports errors or machine malfunctions as required. May perform clerical work incidental to machine operations such as labeling tape containers, maintaining production records, replenishing specified stock items, and distributing output materials. Operates peripheral equipment to perform such operations as tape-to-printer. May work with multiple systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES *
Performs hardware and software installations, upgrades and maintenance of network computer systems, components and applications.
Provides and implements pro-active measures to improve the performance, security and/or availability of computer (operating) systems, components and applications or to reduce costs.
Provides assistance and support to other System Administrators in analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving (remote) computer system and software problems.
Analyzes and solves coPmplex problems of network (operating) system hardware and software components.
Monitors and documents computer (operating) systems, applications and hardware operational statistics (usage, performance, security/access, errors, availability, etc.).
Assists senior System Administrators and external vendors in developing and enhancing the network computer systems, operating systems, applications and components.
Works closely with the Network Administrators to monitor, analyze and troubleshoot local area networks and components.
Ensures business data and systems are adequately protected and backed up in accordance with existing procedures and guidelines.
Installs, configures, troubleshoots and maintains end-user systems and applications.
Installs, configures, troubleshoots and maintains server computer systems and applications.
Installs, configures, troubleshoots and maintains manufacturing systems and applications.
Provides systems and applications support to end-users.
Remains up-to-date with the latest relevant technology developments to ensure industry best practices and developments are known and investigated for applicability for the company.
Participate in projects with other IT departments and/or external vendors.
Performs other related duties as required.
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or similar and 1 year of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Proficient in communicating in English, both verbally and in writing
Must be able to lift occasionally and/or move up to 25 pounds
Background with exposure to various infrastructure technologies including:
o Servers and networks
o Desktop technologies including hardware and software
o Strong troubleshooting skills
PMP or other technical and professional certifications
