Job Description

The Plant Operations Manager assists the director in the operations of the Facilities Department. The incumbent has full control and latitude of the department in the absence of the department director. In this position, the incumbent is responsible for instituting all practices and policies associated with Healthcare, NYSDOH, DOH, DNV, CMS and all other regulatory agencies as they apply. The manager is responsible for scheduling contractors and service vendors to ensure testing and inspections are performed in accordance with regulatory agencies and is responsible for maintaining budgetary constraints and ensuring that appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all times. The Operations Manager will assist the department director with the development of action plans for deficiencies noted by accreditation agencies. The manager works in conjunction with the project coordinator to support all projects in the MVHS. The Plant Operations Manager is responsible to ensure that code compliance is maintained as it applies to the various regulatory agencies such as DNV, DOH, CMS and local codes. The manager will assist the director in the development of operating and capital budgets and other duties as required.

Required Skills

-Bachelors degree preferred (CHFM designation a plus)

-Working knowledge of one or more trades such as HVAC, mechanical, plumbing or electrical

-Previous management experience

-Experience working in a union environment

-Experience with healthcare regulatory agencies

-Minimum 5 years healthcare maintenance and operations experience

-Strong computer skills
