Supports hardware installation and configuration and ongoing maintenance of the computer/data center. May monitor and troubleshoot equipment and assist with logging and documentation. Monitors batch schedules and takes actions as necessary in response to schedule problems or abnormal program terminations. Manages tape backups including physical tape handling. Responsibilities may also include cabling, racking and server installations. Coordinates, diagnoses and troubleshoots employee issues with personal computers and related systems. Provides support services to employees with technical problems and information technology issues involving desktop, laptop or network services from local personnel or from employees using network remote access. Provides timely resolution of problems or escalation on behalf of customer to appropriate technical personnel. Develops, documents, and implements standard operating procedures and customer service guidelines relating to remote IT support.

Identifying and solving customer IT problems to ensure the business can accomplish their business objectives. The activities are not limited to the work location but can be stretched throughout the EMEA region.

IT Operations Analyst Job Duties:

  • Identifies project requirements by interviewing customers; analyzing operations; determining project scope; documenting results

  • Develops problem solutions by describing requirements; studying system capabilities; analyzing alternative solutions; preparing system specifications

  • Develops project estimates by identifying phases and elements and costs.

  • Verifies results by completing tests.

  • Prepares customers to use system by conducting training.

  • Provides reference for customers by writing documentation; providing support and help. (second and third level help)

  • Maintains systems/applications by researching and resolving problems; maintaining system integrity and security.

  • Assist in maintaining and implementing new or revised IT policies and procedures to support daily operational processes.

  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.

  • Acts as a liaison between the TE and IS vendors, facilitating communication, resolving problems and assisting the vendors to understand the role of the IS department.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

  • Participates in meetings, establishes/maintains interdepartmental communications and undertakes special projects.
