PDS Tech Inc US - Machinist - Level 3 - Lifting 30lbs or less moderate machine operation in Torrance, California
PDS Tech, inc. is seeking a Machinist - Level 3 for an open position in Torrence, CA.
Successfully machine parts from work instructions which include but are not limited to blueprints, manufacturing work instructions (SAP) and/or related process specifications
Set-up and operate CNC and manual lathes, mills, grinders, etc., to very close tolerances
Use micrometers/other measuring instruments in order to perform quality control checks on parts in-process and upon completion
Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner
Recommend changes to processes or procedures to improve quality and productivity
Exercise care and safe work practices - close tolerances and fine finishes
Tasks may include development parts, depending upon production demands and product mix
Determine which of several alternatives to use in conjunction with the programmer to accomplish tasks
Make simple program changes and fixture modifications via manual edits
Solve problems and deviations in accordance with previous training; interact with engineers to find solutions to new or unusual problems and enter process data
Perform necessary tasks and paperwork for the proper movement and control of parts and material in conjunction with manufacturing tracking system
Actively participate in activities, daily meetings, understand what is to be accomplished during the shift, and discuss any new shift related issues.
Actively participate in Structured Safety Process (SSP) activities, attend daily safety meetings, complete daily, weekly, and monthly safety related tasks
Accountable for work station or work cell housekeeping
Perform daily job functions in accordance with related policies from: EH&S, Quality, BIQ, TPM, Good Housekeeping practices
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 4-6 years experience in set-ups and production runs for complex components that are processed through various types of CNC machine centers and/or training or course work
• 2 + years experience with complex blue-prints, basic programming, PC’s, process specifications and use if inspection tools
• Due to export restrictions, must be a United States Citizen
•Additional hours/shifts may be requested
