Job Description:SUMMARYThe Threadroll Operator individual responsible to perform light set ups of secondary and fabricating thread rolling machines to roll external threads for manufacture of all types of related fastener products in accordance with established shop practices. Performs work operations under supervision.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation for disabilities may be made for one or more of the following:• Feeds parts into automatic thread roll machines by studying the part, blueprints, specification or instructions.• Operates thread roll machines producing external roll threads in various types and sizes of fasteners and removes parts at the end of the machine cycles.• Performs basic to light thread roll machine set ups and set up modifications in the operation according to blueprints, router package, specifications and/or special instructions.• Observes and performs proper dies speeds, die selection and rolling cycles in order to produce parts to fulfill thread requirements. Sets the proper heating temperatures under the guidance of supervisory personnel.• Performs machine operating adjustments, regulates and controls to detect out-of-tolerance machining or control media as required. Observes and adjusts the controls functions of coolant flow and machine rates.• Recognizes and remedies minor machine malfunctioning, basic sequence of operations and in-process inspections with assistance from lead. Major discrepancies are reported to supervisor or lead when machines maintenance is required or needed.• May be required to give feedback to Manufacturing team, Engineering Team or others to document procedures and drawings.• Checks tooling and notifies supervisor if tooling in non-conforming• Able to read routers and operation drawings to determine machining dimensions and requirements.• Checks threading on test parts to assure conformance to specifications, checks for such factors as pitch, angle, length, diameter and related factors.• Performs Statistical Process Control (SPC) checks per specification and acts in accordance with output and demonstrates knowledge and use of Shop Floor Systems.• Utilizes full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection before start, during and completion of production run.• Inspects parts to ensure conformation, dimension and tolerance levels with specifications and blueprints using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.• Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows all safety regulations.• Adheres to all company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, practices, and procedures.• Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.• Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements and safe operating procedures at all times.• Required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.• Responsible for complying with ISO 14001 standards, aspects, impact as related to the HSE policy commitments.• Reports any HSE violation, machining equipment misusage, damage and/or improperly performing work to supervisor, lead or management.• Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.• Works under recommended waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the manufacturing production function such as recycling opportunities to elimination or minimize production waste.• Performs a variety of other related duties as assigned.Ways of working, Experience, and BehaviorsTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:• Analytical – Understands various data information; Collects and researches data; Uses skills, knowledge and experience to match data; understands the workflows and procedures, production control, and knowledge of continuous improvement.• Technical Skills – Understands and has basic working knowledge of the PINS manufacturing process, procedures and production control and functions of machinery operation; use and understands basic computer entry and processing skills. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIESEducation and/or Experience• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).• Working knowledge and experience of Thread rolling or other manufacturing environment procedures.• Minimum of 1-2 years in Thread roll experience and/or training within an Aerospace fastener manufacturing &/or industrial shop; or equivalent combination of education and experience.• Proficient in blueprints interpretation, key process parameters and SPC data acquisition.Language SkillsAbility to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos provided. Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one, small groups, customers, clients and to employees of the organization.Mathematical SkillsAbility to perform basic mathematical calculations of measurements in whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate basic rates, ratios, and percentages as needed.Reasoning AbilityAbility to resolve simple conflict in schedules or personnel related to tool supply or ordering.
