Lockheed Martin FBM Director for Operations in Titusville, Florida

This position is the Director of Operations for FBM Programs. Responsibilities in the United States include all program activities at the Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic (SWFLANT), Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific (SWFPAC), Santa Cruz Facility (SCF) and manufacturing of products in Sunnyvale. In addition to the U.S. program, this also includes all Strategic Weapons System (SWS) services covered by LMUK Strategic Systems' In Service Support contract with the Ministry of Defense (MoD) at Faslane, Coulport and other locations in the United Kingdom. At the SWFs, activities include the manufacture of missile body products, such as cables and electronic packages, and processing of all missile, reentry and support equipment hardware necessary to deliver the Trident II (D5) missile system to the Navy FBM submarine fleet. As the prime missile contractor at the SWFs, responsibilities include all training, support equipment maintenance, product support services, calibration services, mission critical vehicle maintenance and base management services. At SCF, activities include the manufacture and test of small ordnance for the Trident II (D5) missile, small ordnance storage, special test services and NIROP management services. In Sunnyvale, activities include structures manufacturing, machining, electronics assembly/test and special reentry body assembly. This effort requires the teamwork of over 1,300 Lockheed Martin employees (functional and matrix) and an annual direct budget spread over multiple open contracts worth $200M.

As the director, the focus of the position is on the safe delivery of the products noted above while at the same time securing the future and representing FBM Operations to all senior level company and customer leadership. This entails organizing and providing strategic, programmatic and technical leadership to the entire team. This includes establishing/maintaining a viable organization structure that supports internal and customer requirements as well as key leadership selection and training. Provides overall interface with customer and company leadership through regular contact, extensive travel and presentations in high visibility forums. Establishes requirements, business rhythms and monitors delivery and quality performance to meet contract and company requirements. Keep the customer and Lockheed Martin executive management apprised of product delivery issues and recovery plans. Works closely with the Reshaping leadership team to ensure all program objectives are successfully achieved. As the Project Manager for all Operations direct budget, responsible for oversight of all Control Account Managers within the directorate in meeting all technical, schedule and cost commitments. Also responsible for ensuring all aspects of Risk Management, Continuous Improvement, and Critical Skills are appropriately managed to ensure mission success. In the United Kingdom, also responsible for seeking/securing adjacent new business to grow the footprint of SSC FBM activities. Partner with functional SSC organizations to maintain an effective ConOps for the program. Implement and embrace Full Spectrum Leadership imperative. Employ effective interpersonal and communication skills that encourage and guide employees and promote teamwork across the program and with our customers.

Basic Qualifications * This position is located in the Florida Space Coast * Must have at least ten years of leadership experience, preferably within the Operations discipline. This experience must include at least five years of successfully leading other senior leaders in the direct delivery of products to the customer. * Must have a minimum of two years' experience in ordnance handling, missile processing, nuclear weapons technical operations, and component manufacturing. * Must have experience leading personnel who perform Navy nuclear weapons operations. * A thorough understanding of Navy nuclear weapons culture and requirements such as experience ensuring Nuclear Weapons Safety and Security, what the Navy refers to as "Surety" and accountability for Nuclear Weapons Related Materials. * Must have been a certified CAM (or equivalent) with experience successfully managing technical, schedule and cost elements of contracts over $50M. * Must be an excellent communicator, both with interpersonal interfaces (internally and externally) as well as in large presentation forums. * Must be willing to travel extensively, within the United States (Washington, Georgia, California, Colorado and Washington D.C.) and abroad (United Kingdom). * Must have demonstrated customer confidence and credibility, including the ability to understand and interface with senior military personnel/commanding officers. * Must have experience in successfully leading large teams of employees through extensive critical inspections and audits, such as Nuclear Technical Proficiency Inspections and Defense Nuclear Surety Inspections. * Must demonstrate leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives of Shaping the Future, Building Effective Relationships, Energizing the Team, Delivering Results and Modeling Personal Excellence, Integrity and Accountability. * Must have an active Top Secret Clearance.

Desired skills * Three years of experience as the FBM Strategic Weapons Facility Resident Director, Deputy Resident Director or equivalent, such as leading Navy Strategic Weapons Facility operations. * Similar direct experience with Sunnyvale and/or Santa Cruz FBM manufacturing operations. * Practical knowledge of product delivery support systems such as SAP and EPDM. * Experience in a broad range of inter-operational disciplines such as MRP, storeroom operations, hands-on manufacturing/processing, calibration, etc. * A working knowledge of U.S. and U.K. export control requirements. * Experience working with represented workforce and leading and operating in a Union environment.
