Braun Intertec is seeking an Operations Manager to join our Texas City, Texas, office in an effort to run the day-to-day operations in the Texas City office.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists Senior Geotechnical Engineer

  • Staffing, training and resource optimization

  • Management of CMT Coordinator and CMT Technicians

  • Works with Business Unit Manager and Senior Geotechnical Engineer to build a good rapport with the team

  • Relationship building with internal and external customers and clients

  • Monitors CMT projections, headcount, backlog, and results on a continuous basis, initiating operational changes as needed

  • Continually monitor project budgets to enable a timely completion of change order request and approval with the client if needed

  • Creates and develops a team of technicians that are qualified and certified, work with technicians that need certifications so the person will go after the best certification possible therefore achieving a higher bill rate

  • Provide all regional CMT operations with advice and guidance in quality control and work with all technicians to make sure they are properly trained in their roles and responsibilities

  • Works with Operations Supervisor on staff training, supporting issues, and providing learning and coaching

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Ability to develop and present training material to CMT staff

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple priorities

  • Demonstrated effectiveness managing field staff

  • Thinking agility and flexibility - able to make decisions quickly

  • Ability to travel regionally 20% of the time

Required Experience

  • 3 plus years experience working in construction materials or quality control-related field

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Relevant post-secondary education and/or training preferred

  • 4-year college degree preferred

  • Five or more years of relevant experience required

  • Seven or more years of experience preferred

  • Demonstrated effectiveness building and working with teams
