This position supports Commander, US Marine Corps Component Command of USCENTCOM in Tampa, FL on MacDill AFB, Chief Of Staff, G-5 Plans Director, with the development and review of OPLANs and CONPLANs; Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) planning in support of the Joint Operational Planning and Execution System (JOPES); force movement planning using the Time Phased Force Deployment Data (TPFDD) system, theater security cooperation, and exercise planning; coordinating and facilitating conferences; and providing inputs to the development of command requirements for inclusion in the Urgent Universal Needs Statement program and inclusion in the Joint and Marine Corps requirements process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports MARCENT with a senior operational contingency planning for the development of MARCENT support plans in the USCENTCOM AOR with a focus on the LEVANT region.

  • Represents the command and at USCENTCOM, bi-lateral, multi-lateral and coalition planning conferences.

  • Represents MARCENT G-5 at CENTCOM Battle Rhythm events (e.g. Joint Planning Group, Joint Planning Board, Modeling and Simulation Working Group, etc.).

  • Supports planning, coordinating, and managing conferences.

  • Manages MARCENT staff reviews of USCENTCOM planning products and provide the MARCENT responses to USCENTCOM, and will ensure that all plans reflect the proper deployment and employment of Marine forces.

  • Provides contingency planning for joint, bi-lateral and multi-lateral plans and major OPLANs/CONPLANs, to include: compartmented plans; developing assessments, briefs, information papers, and standard naval messages

  • Assisting in the development of strategic, policy, campaign, and posture plans

  • Providing contingency planning support for emergent planning efforts as required.

  • Presents technical information to reviewers in oral and written formats.

  • Presents and defends positions and come to consensus with other technical and non-technical people.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience and familiarity in providing technical services and analytic expertise in SCI/SAP programs for DoD, DoN and/or United States Marine Forces Central Command (MARCENT).

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a contingency planner for the development of MARCENT support plans in the USCENTCOM AOR with a focus on the LEVANT region.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing staff reviews of USCENTCOM planning products and developing responses to USCENTCOM, ensuring that all plans reflect the proper deployment and employment of Marine forces.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience providing SME guidance and recommendations

  • Assisting in the development of strategic, policy, campaign, and posture plans

  • Planning, coordinating, and managing conferences

  • Supporting internal MARCENT working groups as needed

  • Representing MARCENT G-5 at CENTCOM Battle Rhythm events (e.g. Joint Planning Group, Joint Planning Board, Modeling and Simulation Working Group, etc.)

  • Providing contingency planning support for emergent planning efforts as required.

  • Four-year college degree in the field of specialty such as national security, intelligence and security or related field

  • OR equivalent education and experience combined.

  • Familiarity and experience working with MARCENT Business and Joint Processes, particularly with joint training, readiness and exercises.

  • Must be able to travel domestically in an auto, must have a driver’s license or able to obtain a state driver’s license.

  • Must be a US citizen; must be able to obtain and maintain a US Passport.

  • Must be able to travel extensively both domestically and internationally unassisted.

Applicant selected will be subject to government security investigation to gain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Must meet eligibility requirements to access classified information.
