Job Purpose:

Review and disposition of Alerts generated through the screening of the New to Bank (NTB) accounts opened and maintenance processes of existing accounts as well as the periodic screening of the entire customer portfolio under purview against the additions to the Sanctions List issued by the regulators. Decision-making on escalation/closure of case. Job Context:

Located within the regional Anti Money Laundering Hub, the Global Screening Operations mitigates the sanctions risks for the organization and its customers in the global marketplace.

It uses skilled analysts, state-of-the-art technology and globally standard policies and procedures to ensure effective monitoring and reporting of suspicious activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serving as Subject Matter Expert, for multiple products, in the analysis of alerts and investigation of customers who match SDN, PEPS and Negative Media during the account opening and maintenance processes in order to protect the organization and its customers in the global marketplace.

• Providing training and mentoring to analysts on investigative techniques, internal systems, products, money laundering policy and sanctions regulation.

• Conducting searches, gathering data and recording evidence from internal systems, the internet, commercial databases and enquiry with business or Compliance contacts within the organization.

• Accumulating facts from investigations to be utilized in presentations to Senior Management and Compliance

• Reporting unusual client activities which might relate to sanctioned individuals, money laundering or terrorist financing

• Reviewing Analysts’ recommendations for further enquiry, escalation or closure

• Submitting requests for further information in the event of name matches

• Authorising closure of cases

• Performing peer review of investigations to ensure appropriate dispositions have been recommended by analyst

• Supporting the successful accomplishment of internal Risk Control, and Self-Assessment (RCSA) policies, as they apply to the department

• Implementing integrated processes and procedures aimed at meeting internal and external regulatory or policy guidance

• Conducting alert investigation using global standard policies, procedures and tools aimed at meeting internal and external regulatory requirements

• Operating within agreed business SLAs and confidentiality standards

• Maintaining a proactive curiosity and pursue investigations to a greater level of diligence than normally required for the standard due diligence

• Supporting implementation of new products during UAT of systems and processes

• Building and applying knowledge of sanctions and anti-money laundering processes

Qualifications

Knowledge / Experience:

•Required: 1 year experience in Sanctions or AML Monitoring

•Required:Understanding of Sanctions and AMLMonitoring Processes

•Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•Required: Demonstrated initiative and creativity in problem solving

•Required: Computer Literate.Proficient in Windows applications, and Internet and commercial database searchesQualifications:
