Candidate will supportthe Joint Staff J7, DTD Deployable Training Team (DTT) its mission of conducting joint and multi-national training, exercises, and operational staff assist visits (SAVs).

This program provides joint matters education and training for joint commanders and their staffs and focuses on the joint operational and strategic levels of war. The candidate would be responsible for supporting joint training in the cyber support aspects of joint training, guidance, and mentorship to Combatant Commanders, Joint Task Force commanders, and Service component commanders, and their staffs in national security strategy, theater strategy and campaigning, joint planning processes and systems, and joint, interagency, and multinational capabilities and the integrations of those capabilities. The products provided to the customer include systemic and functional lessons learned, both in written and oral presentations. These lessons are applicable to current joint operational procedures and serve as the basis for future training requirements.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities of the AT will be: *Provides in-depth research, analysis, and support to Observer Trainers (OTs) across all functional areas within the Deployable Training Division (DTD), including preparation for academics, exercises, and staff assist visits, analytic support during academics, exercises, and staff assist visits (SAVs), and preparing the functional after-action review, Commander’s Facilitated After-action Review (FAAR), and Commander’s Summary Report (CSR).Maintains and reviews historical data and produces functional area overviews and trend analysis reports.Assists in development and updating functional area focus papers and input to Joint Doctrine.Provides functional area experience, continuity, and expertise in training and developing functional area OTs.

Serves as military trainer in the functional area as a member of the DTD Deployable Training Team (DTT), providing facilitated academic seminars, collecting observations and best practices, and providing advice and assistance to training audiences during exercises and SAVs.

Conducts in-depth research and analysis in preparation for exercises, provides functional after-action reviews, and provides support to the DTT Team Chief in preparing the FAAR and CSR.

As needed, provides support to the Joint Exercise Control Group during exercises in replicating higher headquarters communication strategy requirements.Conceptualizes, develops, and assesses the communication aspects of joint doctrine; joint tactics, techniques, and procedures; and related publications.

Provides facilitated seminars on operational communication strategy support to joint operations for the KEYSTONE, CAPSTONE, and PINNACLE programs as part of the Senior Leader Education Program for the National Defense University.

Provides consulting expertise to military or defense clients in the development and evaluation of military training and doctrine. May have specialized expertise in planning and executing some or all phases of military training exercises, including doctrinal development, scenario development, and after action review and analysis.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification to be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

Bachelors Degree with 15 years experience OR Masters Degree with 13 years experience.

Must have an active Secret Level clearance and must be readily clearable up to a Top Secret Clearance.

Thorough understanding of the cyber support requirements for CCMD and JTF staffs to support the commander’s decision cycle.

Must be willing to travel to support worldwide (to include areas considered hazardous duty) training events

Minimum 8 years experience in deliberate and crisis action planning

Combatant Command, Joint Task Force, Division, afloat staff, or Wing staff experience

Joint Force Staff College or Service equivalent required for commissioned officers;

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with the preparation and conduct of seminars/study groups for flag officers

Ability to write/prepare operational orders, plans, mission support requests, field reports, etc.

Experience in the compilation and presentation in both written and oral formats of lesson learned and after action review material

Experience with operational planning efforts at the operational and strategic levels.
