Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or a combination of equivalent education and work experience. Six years of experience managing multi-property level hotels, and direct supervision of at least 10 managers or the equivalent combination of the two


 Must have a thorough knowledge of the market, competition, demand generators and new supply for each property within the region

 Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to guests, vendors, senior management and staff.

 Strong problem solving and time management skills required.

 Conflict management/resolution and negotiation/persuasion skills critical.

 Must possess strong analytic ability


 Extensive travel is required

 While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk and listen to guests and company associates. The associate frequently is required to stand.

Job Description:


The SDRO is responsible for their overall region’s performance and directing a team of District Managers. Objectives include: delivering on financial performance objectives, market share performance, human capital development/management and driving key metrics to meet targets and overall company objectives.



 Ensure District Managers are driving Company initiatives and maintaining/ improving brand reputation.

 Guide District Managers to provide the best possible experience for our guests and associates in alignment with ESA Shared Values.

 Guide development in human resource areas including: recruiting, training, coaching, succession plans and annual reviews/merit.

 Ongoing financial performance review to ensure budget goals are achieved through revenue generation and sound expense control to meet company flow-through targets. Ongoing review and accurate forecasting of revenue/expenses and action planning as needed.

 Responsible for taking the leadership role in managing Revenue Triangle and providing guidance through action planning and result review, including active involvement in rate review, sales strategies and execution.


 Overall management of capital needs for region and expenditure for optimal asset management.

 Aggressive oversight of safety/health standards. Limit exposure to factors that could negatively impact brand reputation… including Department of Labor, risk management, loss prevention and security concerns.

 At least once per year, conduct a sales call to each of the top 10 revenue generating accounts in the region.

 Respond to escalated guest and associate concerns in a timely fashion to ensure satisfaction.

 Oversee maintenance and renovations at properties to ensure physical assets of the company are kept clean, safe and up to date.

 Develop and maintain high morale and a professional work environment. Lead by example and promote accessibility.

 Encourage an ongoing “Care for the Community” effort within the region.
