CACI International GEOINT Services Operations and Sustainment Lead in Springfield, Virginia

Job Description:

The GEOINT Services - FADE team of BIT Systems, a CACI Company, is looking to hire an Operations and Sustainment Lead to help manage a critical new facet of our expanding business within the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

NGA’s GEOINT Services initiative has successfully delivered a number of critical geospatial applications and mission capabilities across several security domains. These capabilities have received security accreditation and are being adopted by the intelligence community as a whole.

Our NGA customer recognizes the need of formalized support for these critical applications. A geographically distributed team needs to be stood up spanning Springfield VA (NCE), St. Louis MO (2nd Street) and Denver CO (BCF).


The Operations and Sustainment (O&S) Lead will help staff and then manage the efforts of tier 1 and tier 2 support technicians, system reliability engineers, and security engineers across these locations. The O&S team fills several critical roles for GEOINT Services including being the primary customer service point of contact for critical mission users. O&S will also support applications deployed for development staff building applications across the NGA. O&S interacts directly with the GEOINT Services Capabilities and DevOps engineering teams providing feedback and suggestions for improvements to both the reliability and functionality of mission applications. Finally, O&S is charged with continuous system monitoring for both availability and security, and will help develop and/or acquire the tools necessary to perform those functions.

The ideal candidate will have very strong communications and leadership skills, along with a broad technical understanding of modern software systems and cloud technologies. The willingness to interact with end-users within the NSG community and manage customer outreach is also critical.

Required Qualifications:

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 10 to 12 years of related experience.

Required Technologies and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of DevOps best practices

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage geographically diverse teams

  • Understanding of Tier 1 and tier 2 support methodologies

  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle

  • Familiarity with cloud technologies including AWS, C2S, and Platform as a Service

  • Customer service and customer satisfaction focus


Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.

Additional BITS Information:

Not to mention BITS benefits are quite unique. Basically, BITS benefits equate to 50% of salary on TOP of your base salary. The first part is a tax-qualified profit sharing retirement plan to which BITS annually contributes up to 25% of your base salary (not in excess of applicable IRS limits) to your retirement account under the plan. The second part consists of BITS' Individual Benefit Account Plan (the IBA), which is used for premiums, medical reimbursements, dependent care, education and BITS' Paid Time Off (PTO) Policy. Both components of the BITS benefit package are paid for by BITS in addition to your base salary and potential performance bonuses.
