This role is fundamental to supporting the management of the business areas specified with commercial, operational and strategic decisions.
Providing timely insight into and challenging of financial performance, leading to a robust decision making process of current and future business activities/opportunities.
As Senior Business Finance Partner, the key financial contact and working closely together with the business area’s management team responsibilities will include:
Provide insight into the financial performance of the business area to support key decisions. By understanding and reporting on the key financial and non-financial drivers that are impact profitability.
Challenge reasons for under and over-performing on business activities.
Identify risks and opportunities to forecast/budget/5YP of business activates
Support the development of appropriate mitigation plans and to ensure lessons learned are carried into future evaluations.
Producing timely and accurate management reporting and commentary on performance
Develop robust budgets, short and long-term forecasts
In addition as Senior Business Finance Partner, responsibilities will include supporting the management teams with:
Conducting financial and business diligence to evaluate new business developments
Support the process for new tenders/bids/business cases through the provision of robust economic modelling including probability, cashflow and return on investment
Challenge assumptions embedded with new tenders/bids/business cases
Develop scenarios/sensitivities around new tenders/bids/business cases to understand the impact of changes in key assumptions on profitability and cash.
Support the development for wider strategic projects.
As Senior Business Finance Partner, other responsibilities will include:
Champion Finance across the organisation.
In the absence of the FP&A Director of Finance and/or Senior Finance Business Partner, support urgent matter arising across other business areas
Ensure continuous improvement in processes, systems and procedures to help improve organisational efficiency.
Ensure that the underlying books and records accurately reflects the performance of the business activities, and that corresponding assets and liabilities are accurately recorded.
Work closely with wider Finance department in order to ensure accurate reporting and data integrity
Respond to ad hoc financially related queries for one off requests and analysis from the business
Qualified CIMA/ACCA with previous business partnering experience.
Strong IT skills – Advanced Excel skills preferable.
Ability to take sole ownership with minimal supervision.
Organised with strong focus on detail but with an ability to identify priorities.
Ability to collaborate and communicate with people of all levels of seniority and achieve continuous improvements in process and efficiency.
Strong economic modelling skills
Deadline focused and results orientated.
The ability to pay attention to detail while maintaining a sense of the bigger picture.
Flexible attitude to get involved in further, and ad hoc, activities in a fast-growing business.
