NuStar L.P. Terminal Operator Trainee in Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Job Description:This position will be based in Sioux Falls, SD. The successful candidate will be expected to live in the immediate Sioux Falls area.The position is an hourly position that currently works 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The position will work a rotating shift including part of the weekend, (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday; 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday; and 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday). The position will involve off-duty hours callouts for batch cuts, customer assistance, snow removal, and other operational duties. The position may involve travel for training and meetings with very limited overnight travel. The position will require working outside in the elements. The position requires the successful candidate to work with hazardous materials including gasoline which contains benzene, fuel oils, liquid natural gasoline, ethanol, and petroleum additives. The position is subject to both pre-employment and random DOT drug testing. Duties include, but are not limited to: routine terminal operations, filling and emptying storage tanks and additive tanks, performing quality assurance testing, providing customer assistance and training, along with light housekeeping and grounds maintenance. Successful candidate will relieve at other Iowa facilities when needed.Requirements:
A high school diploma or GED is required. A minimum of one year of terminal/pipeline operations is preferred. A valid drivers’ license with a good driver record is required.
The positon requires the ability to climb 48’ tall storage tanks and the ability to lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Good PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft products are required. Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and unsupervised and willing to adapt to changing conditions. Good communications skills are required. The ability to operate a tractor with a front end loader and rear mower is preferred.
Pre-employment testing which includes a mechanical aptitude and industrial information assessment as well as a workplace attitude and behavior assessment will be required.
