Job DescriptionAmazon Special Handling Team is seeking an experienced leader to manage a large scale transportation network for large item/ heavy bulky products like TVs, furniture, sporting goods and more. The leader should be able to identify, develop and implement innovative solutions to improve the Customer Experience through first time damage-free and on-time delivery to our customers. The transportation network encompasses all of the operations required to deliver worldwide shipments to and from our fulfillment centers and third party partners through a network of transportation service providers. Role will have financial ownership and contract management responsibilities as well. Basic Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited university. 4+ years of experience in the transportation industry working with LTL/FTL carriers. 2+ years of experience with transportation management systems. 2+ years of experience analyzing cost/benefit of proposed projects and project/ program management. Strong written and verbal communication. Proven analytical and ability to use data to manage metrics, drive improvements, and implement business cases. 2+ years of advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Proven business judgment to manage financials, manage operations and deliver cost & Customer Experience goals. Preferred Qualifications MBA Experience in distribution or transportation of high value large items/ heavy bulky products. Demonstrated negotiation skills and management of third-party vendors/carriers. Understanding current logistical solutions and developing new products.
