Primary Role: Independently operates, maintains, repairs and inspects boiler feed water, high pressure boiler, and air compressor systems, (pretreatment, process control, etc.) and associated work. Includes the collection of water samples, recording and reporting data and, adjusting chemical feed rates, and other similar duties. Position will also be required to perform building maintenance, and minor construction.

Key Accountabilities:

nn


+ Operates (boiler feed water and pretreatment systems, air compressors, and high pressure boilers, chemical feed systems, storage tank levels, etc) to provide compliance with applicable state and federal regulations. Collects and analyzes samples required for compliance and process control. Troubleshoot technical and operational systems. Management of a SCADA system in order to meet plant production goals.

+ Performs maintenance and repair of the all systems. Perform assigned general housekeeping duties. Maintains and calibrates hand-held and on-line monitoring equipment and treatment equipment as required.

+ Follows Company?s Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies, and report unsafe conditions.

n

+ Takes and records system operation readings according to prescribed schedules.

n

+ Maintains daily logs, records plant operating data as required in logs and operations software

n

+ Effective, timely, and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, and individuals from other organizations. Performs other related functions assigned or as they become apparent.

Knowledge/Skills:

+ Able to read gauges and meters.

n

+ Prepare and maintain accurate paperwork such as records, logs, orders, surveys and routine reports as directed.

n

+ Able to perform accurate mathematical calculations related to this position.

n

+ Good communication skills with all levels.

n

+ Perform standardized water process control, monitoring, and compliance sampling and testing.

n

+ Past working knowledge using mechanical skills, for making minor repairs to process equipment, piping, motors, etc.

n

+ Ability to respond to emergencies

n

+ Capable of lifting and/or carrying 100 lbs. or more on a frequent basis. Working on feet for extended periods of time. Carrying, climbing, and working from ladders. Working in confined areas. Ability to wear a respirator or SCBA as required.

n

+ Hands-on experience in light duty electrical power systems (240 V/ single and three phase) and instrumentation calibration and use.

n

+ Welding experience

n

+ Some computer skills; MS Word, MS Excel and SCADA systems.

n

+ Collect water samples and perform analysis.

n

+ Knowledge of the techniques, equipment and materials used in the mechanical maintenance and repair of related equipment and systems.

n

+ Possesses a thorough knowledge of high pressure boiler operation and maintenance.

n

+ Specifically but not limited to knowledge of methods and precautions in storing and handling of industrial chemicals.

n

+ nowledge of health and safety regulations.

Education/Experience:

+ High School graduate or state recognized education equivalency certificate.

+ Preferred but not required.

n


Licenses & Certifications: Must possess a valid, active state driver?s license, CDL preferred.

Work Environment:

+ Employee may be required to work indoor or outdoor work during seasonal heat and cold or other adverse weather conditions.

n

+ Must be physically able to complete necessary tasks while wearing an approved respirator as required, as some required work may have potential for exposure to harmful contaminants, environments, noise, etc.

n

+ Must be able to lift 100 pounds, unassisted.

+ There will be shift, weekend, holiday and overtime work as needed, including on-call assignments
