Axway Director, Technical Operations in Santa Clara, California
We are looking for a senior leader to direct Infrastructure Engineering and Operations and to work with the infrastructure teams and Sr. Management on the IT Infrastructure strategy for growing and scaling E-commerce solutions.
The Director, TechOps directs all technical activities within the team in support of the overall goals and objectives, and coordinates the team’s activities with other functions within Infrastructure Team and across Axway to ensure the effective delivery of quality services to Axway’s internal customers and partners.
Partner with the Infrastructure team and IT/IS Managers to ensure all internal customers are fully satisfied throughout their lifecycle, from on boarding through ongoing operations.
Institute and monitor metrics related to performance of the team and the underlying technologies.
Continually optimize the infrastructure and the operational processes.
In support of the IT/IS Managers, and typically at senior management level, meet with internal teams regarding critical product and/or service delivery problems. Create and communicate action plans to rapidly address these problems.
Define the responsibility areas/boundaries for personnel within the team in accordance with ITIL processes so that operations are smooth and accountabilities are unambiguous. Monitor compliance to agreed-upon goals and responsibilities.
Ensure the availability of the resources needed for effective and seamless 24x7 follow-the-sun support to meet SLAs.
Develop staffing strategies. Recruit and hire staff. Supervise direct and functional reports. Establish individual performance goals and priorities. Review performance against goals. Provide counseling. Plan, approve, and implement programs for the timely development and progress of each individual. Plan and grant salary increases and bonuses as appropriate. Manage discipline and documentation steps in problem employee situations. Manage dismissals.
Manage to the budget.
Safeguard Axway and Axway customer data through compliance with Axway policies and the appropriate use of Axway equipment and facilities
At least five years of pertinent customer relations experience.
At least three years of pertinent technical management or supervisory experience.
Experience with Axway products preferred
Excellent people management and leadership skills suitable for a highly motivated and successful technical team.
Excellent technical skills to ensure credible interactions with senior engineers and their management across Axway, and to understand the activities taking place within the team.
Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate complex technical problems and action plans up to an executive level both internally and with customers and partners.
Excellent organization skills, with ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
Knowledge of cloud models (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience.
- Technical degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems and ITIL Foundations qualification preferred or relevant industry work experience.
