Gap Inc.’s Operations Strategy team helps to identify, evaluate and optimize the Gap Inc. Supply Chain and inventory operations by identifying innovation, opportunity, improving our processes to operate efficiently, sustainably and in support of global growth and speed. Our supply chain and related operations support all channels, brands and markets worldwide across the portfolio. Our goal is to provide the best customer experience with high quality, on trend product at the right value across the portfolio. This requires constant optimization of the right product in the right place at the right time. To enable this, we must build best in class capabilities and have a clear strategic roadmap to win in the dynamic retail market.

This Senior Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the growth of Gap Inc. brands globally. The role is a hybrid of traditional jobs in strategy/strategic planning and program/project management, requiring a mix of data analysis, cross-functional partnership and project management. Sample projects include: new market entry, developing improved e-commerce fulfillment models, and change management.


As a key member of the team, the Senior Analyst will-

Lead analysis of new markets and channels, helping identify new growth opportunities for Gap Inc. and / or brands

Drive execution on selected growth opportunities, including data analysis and process design

Problem solve key strategic issues and support storyboarding of strategic recommendations and operational plans

Engage with cross functional stakeholders and brand liaisons to gather data and develop insights; help deliver insights and recommendations to senior executives

Benchmark key competitors and generate insights on where to play and how to compete in the marketplace

Project manage key strategic projects, including development of workplans, content development, and communications

Proactively foster brand and business partner relationships to collaborate or gain buy-in on analyses and process recommendations


Strong experience or interest in the retail industry and supply chain function preferred

Experience working at a top tier management consulting firm in a client service capacity

Self-starter with the ability and drive to independently frame problems and attack the work at hand

Comfortable and adaptable in an evolving and fast-paced environment, with the skills to structure ambiguous problems, juggle and prioritize multiple tasks, leverage leaders and business partners, and communicate the work at hand

Strong critical thinking and business curiosity, including exceptional analytical and creative problem solving skills

Proven ability to maintain and build models and interpret large data sets, generating relevant insights/recommendations a plus

Experience with cross-functional project management

Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business partner relationships

Proven ability to maintain composure and professional maturity in a sometimes stressful environment

Excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills

Experience building and conducting financial modeling

Undergraduate degree in engineering, math, economics, and business preferred


2+ years of experience in management consulting, supply chain operations, or retail/consumer products required

At least one year of management consulting required

BA/BS required
