What You Will Be Doing

  1. Drive and support innovation while advancing the vision of our organization.

  2. This pivotal role will focus on delivery platform operations, maintaining and enhancing our CMS, and Site Reliability.

  3. Enhance and maintain the private cloud infrastructure and systems. This task includes DevOps, identifying and solving operational problems in both physical and virtual environments, and supporting production web applications.

  4. Design corporate, test, QA, and production systems in a Hyper-Converged Linux VMware environment.

  5. Participate in design, architecting, and engineering highly available, reliable, and scalable infrastructure to support worldwide online operations.

  6. Develop and maintain monitoring procedures and alerts to ensure uptime and achieve SLA levels.

  7. Partner with engineers and product managers to establish and execute the technology vision and strategy, and enhance end-user functionality.

  8. Work in a highly collaborative environment with peers and senior managers.

What You Need for this Position

  • 3+ years of experience in an IT operations/Sys Admin/Software Engineer/DevOps role

  • Proven skills in data center operations and planning/executing site deployments.

  • Strong knowledge of Linux/UNIX with the ability to install, configure, analyze, maintain, optimize, troubleshoot, and manage security of operating systems and networks.

  • Solid programming skills in either Python, Ruby/Rails or Java/Tomcat - preferably Python/Django!

  • Strong automating system administration tasks with tools such as Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible - We use Salt

  • Experience with scripting (Bash/Shell/Etc.) - preferably Bash

  • MySQL/Postgres experience

  • In-depth understanding of VMware including cluster management and troubleshooting

  • Really nice to have skills:

  • Fundamental understanding of Internet networking protocols.

  • Experience with AWS

  • Solid experience working with network architecture including VPNs, load balancers, fire walls, switches, and routers.

  • Working knowledge of APIs
