Job Summary

Responsible for all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), and Building Automation Systems maintenance at assigned Facilities. Makes necessary adjustments and repairs as needed to maintain operation as designed.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

1. Responds to trouble calls from building occupants and computer alarms.

2. Repairs and troubleshootsHVAC, plumbing, mechanical and electrical building equipment problems.

3. Reviews alarm summaries and makes building system adjustments on the Building Automation Systems.

4. Documents daily building system operations.

5. Maintains door hardware & controls

6. Operates Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

7. Paints, finishes and refinishes drywall, wood, metal and other materials.

8. Reading & comprehension of blue prints, schematics, & maps

Problem Solving

Incumbents are authorized to respond to service calls, assess needs or damage and make decisions regarding the course of action to be taken. They can make repairs or call on the required trades as needed. They are also authorized to advise the appropriate administration of the situation.

Comments

This position will rotate a 24/7 on call schedule and is responsible for both employee and facility safety day and night.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience with building systems control or related experience or equivalency; demonstrated knowledge of automated and computer-directed building systems, plumbing and electrical systems, and pneumatic and electronic control systems; and familiarity with heating and air conditioning systems required. A working knowledge and understanding of mechanical equipment, automation and field hardware; and demonstrated computer literacy, human relations and effective communication skills are also required. Must possess a Steam Engineer of Unlimited Capacity license.

Preferences

Training obtained through an Accredited Trade Program.

Backflow Preventer Inspection Certification

Fire Extinguisher Inspector Certification

Building Operator Certification

Demonstrates & practices appropriate Safety Procedures;
