Ensures production goals are met by managing tonnage, payroll, and other administrative functions.Essential FunctionsAvailable to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekendsEffectively manage the inbound/outbound processing of various freightConsistently meet or exceed productivity goalsLift up to 50 pounds frequently and greater than 75 pounds occasionallySupervise and manage personnel operations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, and processing of customer shipmentsSupervise and plan hourly employee schedules to meet daily operations goalsEnforce all company, FMCSR, OSHA ,and DOT policies, rules, regulations, and laws as requiredEnsure customers freight is delivered and picked up on time and damage freeCoach, train, and develop employees consistent with company policiesStand and walk on non climate-controlled loading dock area for several hours at a timeSafely climb in and out of a tractor cab and trailerSafely walk, reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel as necessary to perform the job dutiesActs as champion of XPO Logistics values both in demonstrating them personally as well as coaching/training othersPrompt, daily attendance at assigned work locationPerform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBS/BA degree (equivalent military or other work experience may substitute)Transportation/Distribution/Logistics degree programs preferredTwo years of supervisory experience preferredLTL (Less-than-Truckload) industry experience preferredDemonstrated leadership, communication, and administrative skillsKnowledge of the Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry, hazardous materials regulations, and Department of Transportation rules and regulationsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)Proven ability to lead others in a fast-paced environmentExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to balance multiple tasks while positively motivating, coaching, and communicating clear instructions to othersForklift experience preferred Disclaimer LanguageThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
