The position is responsible for maintaining optimum levels of production efficiency, spoilage and quality levels while working in a safe manner and complying with all Safety and Quality procedures.Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Perform daily / department Safety checks to insure safe work habits exist and correct hazardsProduction equipment operationProduction and quality assurance checks and documentationDimensional and visual quality checksMachinery overhauls and upgradesMaintenance of can, end making, and auxiliary equipmentAssisting in trial runs (SMAand#39;s)Installation of new equipment5S/HousekeepingLSS (Lean Six Sigma) ProjectsWork with all Team members to make recommendations for process improvements.Conduct inventory of materials to ensure sufficient stock to maintain operations.Be available for call-outs in cases of emergencies and breakdowns.Forklift operationSorting defective productPacking and Packaging support at Palletizer systemsProblem resolutionBreak ReliefAll other duties as assigned by ManagementCompetencies:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following:Ability to operate equipment safely.Working knowledge of measuring devicesSafe work historyAbility to multi-task in a fast paced environment with good communication skillsDemonstrates attention to detailsProven problem-solving experienceAbility to operate a forkliftExperience in / ability to complete Safety, Quality and Production documentationGood verbal and written communication skillsAbility to read and interpret written documentationAbility to operate a computerMechanical aptitude with Electrical knowledge a plusDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem solveMust be team oriented with good energy and initiativeAbility to work any shift including 12 hour shifts, weekend shifts, holidays, etc.Education and/or Experience:Mechanical experience in a manufacturing / industrial environmentMaintenance mechanic or technical production training certification preferredHigh School diploma or GEDComputer Skills:Basic skillsOther Skills and Abilities:Employee must be punctual and reliable.Availability to work variety of shifts, including weekends and holidaysAble to work in TEAM environments and self-directed.
