Successful employees that show the initiative and desire to take on additional responsibilities and to acquire new skills will have the opportunity to advance their career at Georgia-Pacific.A Day In The Life Typically Includes:Providing operational monitoring and troubleshooting of solid fuel fired high pressure boilersOperating and monitoring gas and steam turbine generatorsOperating and monitoring compressed air, cooling towers, and heat exchangers systemsMaintaining compliance of mill environmental standardsSampling and quality testing of steam and water systemsPerforming lubrication, trouble shooting, and basic maintenance of powerhouse equipmentUsing computers to monitor and log operational equipment dataProactively identifying hazards and mitigating riskWhat You Will Need:Basic Qualifications:Experience troubleshooting and repairing equipmentExperience reading gauges; pressure, temperatureWilling and able to work a twelve (12) hour rotating shift to include days, nights, weekends, holidays and overtimeWilling and able to work in a hot, cold, dusty and noisy industrial environmentWilling and able to work around dust, oil, grease, chemicals and other substancesWilling and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipmentWilling and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a dayWhat Will Put You Ahead?Preferred Qualifications:Six (6) months or more of experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience operating heavy equipment, rotating machinery, chemical handling and lubricationExperienced using basic hand and power tools such as wrench, hammer, and drillsExperience with power plant safety policies, procedures and operations, specifically in areas of water treatment, steam and power distribution systemsWhy Work For GP?Aculturethat places top priority on integrity and complianceOpportunity for career growth at one of the largest, financially stable companies in the worldEncouragement tochallengethe status quo and share knowledgeResponsibilities and rewards based on contributionsContinuedcompany growthdue to reinvesting 90% of our earningsCompetitive pay and benefits that help you manage your personal and financialwellnessWant to learn more aboutGeorgia-Pacific?We're part of your everyday life.
