Kadlec provides a full range of services: Cardiothoracic, Open Heart, Laser, Neurosurgery, Trauma orthopedics, Total Joint, Orthopedics, Laparoscopic, Lithotripsy, Urology, Robotics, General, GYN, and ENT, Plastics, Uro-Gyn, Vascular, and Trauma with the newest technology including Image-Guided Navigation. Kadlec embraces the standards of Perioperative nursing as formulated by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and the American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) and complies with regulatory standards through The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), and Infection Prevention agencies.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program required. BSN from an accredited educational institution or current enrollment in program required. If no BSN or Bachelor’s, must enroll in a BA or BSN program within one (1) year from date of hire into the position and complete degree requirements within three (3) years from date of hire.

  • Current WA State RN Licensure required.

  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.

  • CNOR required.

  • 4 years of OR nursing experience required with 1 year of lead/supervisory experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year recent Operating Room clinical practice, techniques, & equipment experience preferred.

  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills preferred.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

As a RN Operating Room Coordinator you will be primarily responsible for providing guidance, clinical expertise, and mentoring for team members in a manner consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Kadlec Regional Medical Center. As the primary EPIC operational point of contact for perioperative services, the OR Coordinator performs ongoing operational maintenance required for base procedures and Resource Types such as equipment, personnel, and supplies. Duties also include mentoring surgical team members. The OR Coordinator works with management to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate standard work related to the intraoperative phase of surgical procedures. This includes assessing for improving efficiency and developing and implementing strategies to maximize quality. The OR Coordinator will assist in providing direction and supervision of nursing and support staff, and perform duties as assigned. This position will assume a leadership role in the absence of the manager. Direct Patient care may be assigned to assist the department by the O.R. Manager. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Uses critical thinking to analyze and process information as a means of approaching a situation, issue, and decision.

  • Accepts responsibility for meetings/conferences/unit activities, maintains direction and follow-up with plan to improve.

  • Must demonstrate Team partnering, Conflict resolution, Problem solving, actively Listening, staff development, Time management, Positive physician relations.

  • Performs ongoing EPIC OpTime operational maintenance required for base procedures and Resource Types such as equipment, personnel, and supplies.

  • May have ongoing meetings with surgeons, schedulers, etc. to ensure OpTime maintenance is understood and clearly implemented.

  • Assists in mentoring surgical team members and follows up on changes/modifications to ensure corrections are in place.

  • Coordinates, facilitates, and manages change related to EPIC processes including preference card maintenance with analysts and reporting to manager

  • Regularly attends Information Technology meetings as applicable to job role.

  • Assists in evaluation of new equipment and supplies.
