Eaton has an opening for an Operations Manager located in Reno, NV.
The Operations Manager is responsible for implementing the Eaton Business System (EBS) under the direction of the Plant Manager. Additional responsibilities include execution of defined safety management system, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a qualified workforce, reduce operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements. Oversee day-to-day activities and allocate resources to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and annual expectations. This position works closely with the site Quality & Continuous Improvement functions to drive lean initiatives, productivity and continuous improvement.
Establish a proactive safety culture of zero incidents while promoting and ensuring the completion of safety trainings and programs.
Optimize, implement and successfully manage safety, quality, cost and delivery, including creating continuous product flow, utilizing pull systems and level-loading the workload.
Utilize Lean Daily Management to ensure results.
Manage the day-to-day activities of the manufacturing process.
Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work and processes are followed, needed adjustments are implemented and the area is compliant with safety and 5-S requirements.
Develop and oversee implementation and administration of department policies, systems and procedures and operational analysis of plant operations.
Determines optimum staffing model for the plant operations and value streams. Provide effective cross training and development for a flexible workforce.
Ability to establish strategic direction and tactical implementation for manufacturing.
Direct the implementation of Lean Methodologies and Six Sigma initiatives.
Achieve or exceed profit plan manufacturing margins on sales.
Promote team engagement and morale through Eaton Values and Philosophy.
Ability to generate enthusiasm, commitment and performance from others.
Demonstrated ability to make good decisions based on analysis, experience and judgment.
Demonstrated leader who can motivate, influence, guide, develop and mentor others.
Additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory and/or leadership experience.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
Relocation is not provided for this role. Only candidates residing within a 50 mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered.
Master’s Degree from an accredited institution.
5 + years of supervisory and leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
SAP business system experience.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Strong time management skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Able to handle multiple and conflicting priorities.
Foundational knowledge of lean principles and manufacturing processes.
