The Transport Operator will be a member of the Transport department responsible for safely transporting materials such as sand, liquid and over-sized loads to and from job sites. Reporting to the Department Supervisor, Transport, the Transport Operator will focus on adhering to Calfrac’s operational, safety and environmental policies and procedures at all times


  • Transportation of sand, liquid and over-sized loads to and from job locations

  • Assist in spotting storage vessels

  • Accurately complete DVIRs and compliance paperwork associated with job duties (DOT logs, load sheets, trip reports)

  • Perform periodic maintenance on units

  • Ensure all repairs are completed and documented

  • Understand the relevant emergency procedures

  • Identify and raise hazard ID reports when unsafe practices or conditions are observed

  • Ensure adherence to operational policies, procedures to achieve safety and environmental objectives

  • Participation in mentorship driving program

  • Yard duties and shop work as required.

  • Maintain all required safety and legislated certifications and courses

  • Other related duties as required

  • Ability to work independently when required

  • Ability to follow, and enforce safe work procedures, codes, and regulations.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities with a high attention to detail

  • Proven ability to adapt to a variety of environmental factors and extreme weather conditions while performing operational requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain routine logs with a high attention to detail

  • Must be mechanically inclined

  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts (shift-work, rotational, night-shift)

  • High school Diploma or GED preferred

  • Valid Class 1 Drivers License or equivalent required

  • Satisfactory Drivers Abstract required

  • Flexible scheduling and extensive field travel

  • 3 - 5 years driving experience preferred

  • Oil/gas industry experience is considered an asset

  • Experience with chaining up vehicles is considered an asset
