Reference #: 20110509BU Talent Requisition Details Position Information Position Title SENIOR OPERATOR OR MACHINIST CLASS B - LATHES Location Sinking Spring Other Location Explained Position Summary With medium supervision,sets up and operates various types of machine tools. Diversified work. Ordinary tolerances. Performs necessary hand operations. #CB1 Key Accountabilities SENIOR OPERATOR *Follow all safety procedures and works in a safe manner. *Read and follow work order instructions. *Use Kaba Bensing terminal. *Adjust offsets to keep dimensions within specified tolerances *Operate multiple machines in home department *Consistently produce quality parts at standard rates *Transfer programs through the use of the DNC system *Create and utilize set up sheets to run repeat jobs within home department. *Remove & install tooling, work-holding devices and touches off tooling on repeat jobs *Performs minor program edits to account for varying material (diameters, lengths, work shifts) *Operate all lifting devices. *Inspect parts as machined. *Select and return materials at staging area. *Use ESS Terminal CLASS B MACHINIST *All duties listed above, plus, optimally . . . *Adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if machines malfunction within home department. *Calculate machine speed and feed ratios, and the size and position of cuts. Within home dept. *Writes simple programs - straight turning, straight boring, facing and parting off on lathes *Basic operation of the manual CMM and Optical Comparator *Basic operation of the Automatic CMM and Optical CompariterPerform math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and trigonometry. *Assists other employees in setting-up and operating machine tools Position Requirements *High School Diploma or GED, Trade or Vocational School preferred *Prior CNC Machining experience required, machining graphite experience preferred. *Written and verbal communication skills, organizational and strong analysis/problem solving skills are very important. *Ability to read a tape measure within 1/32" *Complete understanding of all hand measuring devices. *Ability to perform basic math functions ( addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, trigonometry ) . ...
