Responsibilities:

  • Lead a highly skilled Network Builds deployment team in delivering High Velocity project builds to deadline, scheduling the daily work, shift scheduling for UK and EMEA based employees.

  • Lead, manage and drive the team to meet planned goals and objectives.

  • Hire, mentor and build a professional development culture, growing talent and assisting with retention programs.

  • Create, maintain, and enforce all processes and procedures for the NW Builds team.

  • Actively participate as a member of the High Velocity management team driving strategies, contributing to continuous improvement, quality and automation plans.

  • Maintain and improve team knowledge portal and SOP documentation repository.

  • Successfully manage and complete change management windows with high quality results.

  • Communicate and partner with all relevant Oracle Cloud teams during the deployment cycle.

  • Maintain communication channel with functional managers and senior leadership on critical issues.

  • Coordinates installation of new and replacement hardware, software and telecom services by other teams, partnering closely with our Architecture, Automation & Operations teams.

  • Creates long-term and short term planning for the Network HV Builds team to address issues and develop program of continuing improvement for the organization.

  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI), set SMART targets, complete monthly 1:1s and appraisals with team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 3-5 years’ experience with network infrastructure in an implementation environment.

  • Previous Network leadership experience in a managed service or telecom environment a plus.

  • Substantial experience in operating 24/7 high-availability network infrastructure in a highly transactional environment.

  • Strong technical subject matter expertise on Cisco and Juniper Platform network solutions.

  • Hands on troubleshooting experience in firewall administration and routing/switching protocols and concepts.

  • Experience in a 24x7 multiple shift team responsible for provisioning and incident management.

  • Experience working with hardware manufacturers (Cisco/Juniper) in support of critical systems.

  • Strong change management and process management experience in a highly transactional organization.

  • Cisco (CCENT or higher) and/or Juniper, F5 certifications highly preferred.

  • Flexible, reliable, committed individual with good organizational skills and proven results of delivery to deadline. Ability to work in stressful situations, adapt quickly to change, work in the best interest of the business and be a good role model.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

As part of the Network Services team within Oracle

  • s Global Information Technology organization, you will be responsible for the delivery of IT services to Oracle

  • s businesses worldwide, these services include the management and delivery of network infrastructure.

Maintain records of equipment failure and liaise with engineers and suppliers as necessary. Escalate client problems according to established procedures. Manage the network using network management tools, analyze network performance and recommend network enhancements. Analyze network performance to ensure adequate bandwidth for business needs. Recommend enhancements to the network infrastructure, and with management agreement enhance proactive network management tool set. Troubleshoot network problems on the campus network, remote locations and country wide area network though to resolution. Perform Project Engineering including specification definition, design of solution in compliance with corporate standards, implementation, testing through to production. Respond to monitor alarms to identify the root cause of an outage and coordinate the corrective action in a timely fashion. Provide on-call support services as needed and provide assistance to others.

Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years relevant work experience and degree/diploma in computer science or IT discipline.
