Under the guidance of the Associate Director for Dining Services, the Operations Supervisor provides input to and recommendations for the development of a variety of dining programing and events. They are responsible for producing well-prepared food items. The individual also provides direction, supervision, training and leadership to front-of-house (FOH) and utility personnel. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation levels of front of house areas both on and off-site, including all preparation and serving areas, with strict attention to sanitation procedures. It is important for the candidate to be able to actively participate in a team setting, with keen attention to customer service, and to culinary and visual detail in support of Dining’s mission.

Job Qualifications Required:

Associate degree in Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts. Three to five years supervisory experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with rigorous quality standards or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, write and follow written procedures. Rhode Island sanitation/ServSafe certification is required or must be obtained within the orientation and review period. A valid driver’s license and good driving record is necessary.

Job Qualifications Preferred:

Computer literacy in Word and Excel preferred. Ability to work with individuals and students from varied backgrounds and different skill levels.
