Requisition ID 48837BRTitle Manager, Clinical Trial Finance and OperationsJob Category Clinical Trial ManagementJob Description PurposeResponsible for the management and development of Finance & Operations staff in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ICH guidelines, federal regulations, and within defined budgeting. Supports successful clinical trials by negotiating contracts and terms with sites and investigators in accordance with all relevant regulations and policies. Responsible for finance and operational aspects of planning and management in accordance to with trial milestones and department metrics. Close collaboration with other managers within Clinical Trial and with various functional units of NNI.RelationshipsReports to the Associate Director Clinical Trial Finance & Operations. Accountable for actively participating in multiple internal cross-functional teams locally to ensure the effective delivery of all functional and departmental milestones. Reporting to this position are F&O Associates and Contract Specialists. Effectively manages to the direction and strategy for performance within clinical trials at NNI thereby facilitating the Clinical Trial department to effectively manage all its business deliverables. External relationships are with clinical investigators and other clinical research vendors as needed to support business objectives for the department and/or function.Essential FunctionsPROJECT SUPPORT:* Actively remains current with industry standards, trends, and competitive intelligence on budget best practices.* Liaises with F&O Finance Managers, Legal Department GDBA to ensure alignment across therapeutic areas* Supports contract negotiator in developing negotiation strategy for investigator budget.* Compiles key study information for tracking and trending for AD Clinical Trial F&O* Coordinates with Trial team to plan site contract negotiations in conjunction with trial startup targets.* Ensures contract compliance with sites in accordance with established policies.* Ensures compliance with the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies and procedures.* Independently researches complex legal and business issues in support of budget determination and negotiation, makes recommendations.COORDINATION/COMMUNICATION, ADMINISTRATION & PERSONNEL DEVELOPMENT:* Ensures that all personnel understand and work towards corporate, department and individual goals and that the measures of those goals are understood and accepted.* Ensures that all personnel understand the priorities of the business, are focused on those priorities, and that their level of accountability is understood and accepted.* Responsible for the coaching, development and growth leading directly to improvement of talents of the personnel within the assigned region to meet increasing levels of responsibility.FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT & STAFF DEVELOPMENT:* Maintains a focused continuous improvement culture by identifying and executing strategies and priorities to enable the F&O finance managers to deliver value and enhance overall operational effectiveness.* Develop tools and metrics for research finance and grants management operations, implement common and consistent processes, and ensure strong internal controls* Ensures clinical trial investigator budget is of high quality and within fair market values; analyze protocol flowcharts to create costing, drives development and maintenance of Investigator Fee Framework* Effectively uses budget-specific and trial metrics and tools to report on, provide visibility into, and analyze budget and contract performance and deliverables.* May support the identification of training needs within function or assigned personnel, the development of training materials to meet those needs, and provide of training as required to improve core competency and skill set of the department or assigned staff.* Responsible for the implementation and execution of strate ies e
