RAVEN INDUSTRIES OF SOUTH Operator- Large Machines in PLEASANTON, Texas
Operate various types of large machines in a production environment in order to produce a product. Types of machines are (but not limited to) extrusion, laminator, tarp machine, etc. Set up and operate large scale machines to produce a product per production schedules, standard practices, and sales order information. Verify machine is set up to requirements to assure production of a quality product. Assist with product changeovers. May perform or assist in making machine setting adjustments to achieve quality and productivity objectives. May perform preventative and minor maintenance on equipment. Read and verify work processes for accuracy according to specifications. Inspect product for quality standards during various stages of production and packaging. May perform tests on products. May assist with training of new machine operators. May direct the efforts of other operators in work group. Packaging function may be required, depending on division. May maintain records of material used. Occasional lifting of items not to exceed 50 pounds. Participate in production improvement initiatives. Demonstrates the Dimensions of Competition and Raven Team Member Values in their daily actions. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow established safety and ergonomic standards. May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed. Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards. Essential functions as defined in Operator I. Perform product changeovers. Perform machine setting adjustments to achieve quality and productivity objectives. Train new machine operators. Direct the efforts of other operators in work group. Acts as lead in their absence. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous machine operation experience preferred, but not required. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous machine operation experience preferred, but not required. Aptitude to learn mechanical skills. Team player who is self-motivated, and has ability to work with minimal supervision. Basic math skills. Ability to work at a fast pace efficiently. Ability to read blueprints and work instructions, and maintain accurate records. Proficient with a computer. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff. Good eye/hand coordination. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to operate forklift, pallet mover, or hoist equipment. Forklift certification may be required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities as defined in Operator I. Demonstrated proficiency as Operator I, as determined by the Production leadership staff. Ability to effectively direct the work efforts of other team members.
