Patelco Credit Union Operational Support-Subpoena Specialist in Pleasanton, California

In this role, responsibilities will include thoroughly researching accounts to produce account records, professionally communicating with external contacts to comply with subpoena orders by deposition date, and supporting the Operational Support Department in completing account research and check copy requests as needed. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, highly-organized, and have the ability to communicate with tact and professionalism.

  • Responsible for producing credit union records to satisfy subpoena requests served to Patelco Credit Union including production of account statements, checks, and signature cards

  • Thoroughly evaluate and assess request to verify legitimacy of request including review of the scope order to ensure compliance

  • Responsible for evaluating written order to confirm compliance with Rights to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA) and Notice to Consumer

  • Research accounts to produce documents as explicitly requested; conduct necessary research in all archives to obtain records including account statements, check copies, and loan applications

  • Responsible for maintaining clear and accurate documentation of all actions and communication with agency who furnished subpoena

  • Prepare supporting documents including Custodian of Records Certification and Fee Invoice to remit along with records

  • Responsible for compiling all records to furnish to subpoena agency by deposition date and maintenance of completed subpoenas for record retention compliance

  • Complete monthly follow-up with agency to collect delinquent record production fees; prepare invoice correspondence and outbound calling as needed

  • Assist with processing outgoing wire transfer request received via fax including verification of member accounts, source of funds, and completion of member authentication

  • Support process of funds escheatment including researching of public records to locate account owners, initiate communication with respective account owners to prevent escheatment of funds

  • Responsible for completion of weekly tax-reporting exception reports including account research and completion of corrections

  • Provide support to Operational Support Department with additional research requests such as deposit check copies, account research, and help desk tickets

  • Provide quality service excellence to members and internal team members by responding to Help Line calls and Help Desk Tickets within service level expectations

  • Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union’s policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Must have High School Diploma/GED

  • Minimum 2 years related experience in banking of financial institution

  • Previous experience with subpoenas or legal orders strongly preferred

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong data entry skills with high accuracy standards

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
