Duquesne Light Company Supvisor Field Operations in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Overal purpose: Provides all scheduling and supervises the work of Troubleshooters, Traveling Operators, Senior Operators and regulation technicians. Job Responsibilities: Prepares, coordinates and arranges outage requests on the transmission, sub-transmission and distribution systems, when It Is necessary to remove equipment from service for repairs, replacement, switching, etc. Instructs and trains troubleshooters and other field personnel on switching and operating procedures. Provide field supervision for troubleshooters and other field personnel during scheduled and emergency switching as required. In storm and emergencies, assists in the coordination of service restoration work. Education/Experience Required: High School graduate or GED with ten (10) or more years experience In T&D, or Substations construction and operations. Working knowledge of National Code, OSHA regulations and National Electric Safety Code. Working knowledge of Company Bargaining Agreement. Valid driver s license. Education Preferred: Skills: Ability to supervise others. Full working knowledge of transmission, sub-transmission and distribution systems (Including all substation equipment). Ability to work extended hours. Physical Requirements: Position exposed to weather including extreme heat and cold, rain, snow; climbs ladders, walk right-of-ways and driving extended per jobs of time during service restoration. Supervisory: Typically the front line supervisor to union staff or support track staff. May manage a small group both staff and professional employees in a narrow focus area typically no more than 4 direct reports and typically used as first entry into leadership for employees without prior leadership experience.
