The Manager of vCMTS Network Operations leads a team of engineers and technical analysts dedicated to supporting the entire vCMTS platform 24 hours a day. This includes all elements that exist between the remote PHY device, and the CRAN connection. This includes, but is not limited to: vCMTS, switches, cloud computing hardware, and software defined network elements.

The vCMTS team will be an on-call escalation group for break fix activities, as well as implementing new deployments and sustaining operations. The manager needs to ensure the team is staffed appropriately for 24hr, 356 days a year availability.

This is a high visibility role with heavy interaction with engineering, operations, and the divisions.

The manager should be familiar with technologies and/or managing engineers that are familiar with the following:


-CMTS, CM, and RDK-B interactions and troubleshooting

-Fiber Deep initiative


-Software defined networks

-Cloud Computing

Core Responsibilities:

-Leads the vCMTS team to provide 24/7/365 support coverage

-Maintain the highest level of operational excellence

-Focus on reducing outage time to a minimum

-Priorities and manage the activities of the vCMTS team

-Produces and maintains playbooks and operational procedures

-Delivers reports on operational metrics and performance of the team on a regular basis

-Prompts the team to work proactively to identify and prevent network outages

-Consistent exercise of independent judgement

-Keep abreast of new technologies
